On my 78th Birthday: A Sonnet

I'm 78, going on seventy nine
I'm still OK and fine.
My teeth can bite, hands can write
Can recall a lot and sleep hours nine.
My legs can walk, and eyes watch
'nd my nose is a bit blowin'
I befriend Diabetes, BP and cold
Yet relish brunch and dine;
I smoke not, eat not meat, and sugar,
A pinch of salt, but no liquor or wine.
That' me my dears, rue nothing in life
'nd walk merrily on sands of Time.
Thankful to God, my wife 'nd family.
Full 'nd content life I had,

Hope the last moment to be as fine.
